Our Story

POWER, Inc. Community was born from a simple truth: single parents deserve support, connection, and opportunities that help their families thrive. As a single mother navigating school systems, community resources, and the daily challenges of raising a child, our founder, Taraza Tyler, saw firsthand how isolating and overwhelming the journey can be without a strong support network.

What began as a desire to help other parents access resources, education, and emotional support has grown into a community‑centered organization dedicated to empowering families. Today, POWER, Inc. Community partners with schools, agencies, and local organizations to provide educational support services, mental health resources, and safe spaces for parents and youth to grow.

Our story is rooted in resilience, community, and the belief that no parent should have to navigate life alone.

Testimonials

"Pulling from a personal experience, I have noticed a lack of readily available resources, representation, and programs that would empower, educate, and equip the single mothers and fathers daily. Advocating for the single mothers, fathers, and the parent community, I intend to break barriers that have been set by a generational misconceptions, miseducation of financial responsibility, and both mental and physical health. But I know that I cannot serve the parent community alone. That is why we need you!"
