Meet the Founder & CEO
Taraza Tyler
Greetings,
My name is Taraza Tyler, and I am honored to serve as the Founder and Executive Director of P.O.W.E.R., Inc. Community. Our nonprofit organization, Parents Owning Wealth Through Education & Resiliency, is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to empowering and equipping parents with essential resources and life skills that support self‑sufficiency and help them overcome daily challenges. Our mission is to support single parents and caregivers, enriching and uplifting families through unity, mentoring, community service, and networking opportunities that help them recognize their potential for excellence throughout their parenting journey.
Inspired by my own lived experiences, I saw firsthand the lack of accessible resources, representation, and programs designed to support single mothers and fathers. As an advocate for single parents, caregivers, and foster parents, my goal is to help families access the systems, resources, and support they need to thrive—especially when navigating barriers shaped by generational misconceptions, financial miseducation, and mental or physical health challenges.
I also recognize that this work cannot be done alone. It takes community, collaboration, and shared commitment. That is why we need you. I look forward to connecting with you as we continue making a meaningful impact in the lives of single parents, caregivers, and their children.
